So, this Sunday my son took me to the local Tavares Autocross. This has been something he does every month, but since last year when he got me a pulley for my birthday, he has been on my ass to go to the autocross. Finally went, was hot as could be, about 8 mini's showed up, a total of about 125 cars werre racing.
I was really scared to go on the track, thinking how broken my car was going to be after racing. Then I put on a required loaner helmet, and jacked my seat lower to compensate for the helmet hitting the top of the headliner. This was not going to be comfortable or fun.
Big moment came, and I roared down the obstacles, thought I was doing so great, then I missed one of the cones, and the announcer said I was doing a "create your own course". Heh, seems almost 40% of the drivers missed the same cone. Every month they have a different course. It was a good course, but my only complaint, no beer- and too hot. OK, so now I will wait till winter and go out once more to see if I will have fun.
Thanks son for showing me Counter Strike, which I stuck with for 7 years now. Autocross, not so sure it is for me.
